Preserving Stories - Protecting Legacies
Books are more than objects – they are family histories, scholarly achievements, cherished collections, and tangible connections to the past. The Book Tailor provides traditional archival book repairs, restoration, and preservation services for collectors, institutions, and families who value craftsmanship and stewardship.
WELCOME TO THE STUDIO
My journey into book conservation began through the influence and mentorship of Leo Behnke, whose appreciation for craftsmanship and preservation helped shape my understanding of the book as both an object and a vessel of history.
As a collector of magic books and ephemera myself, I understand the responsibility that comes with caring for meaningful objects. Each project entrusted to The Book Tailor receives the same attention and respect I would give my own collection.
Every volume carries a story beyond its printed pages. Whether restoring a cherished family Bible, stabilizing a rare first edition, or creating a custom archival housing, our work is guided by one principle: DO NO HARM
We try to preserve as much of the original artifact as possible while ensuring its future use and enjoyment. Through thoughtful conservation and traditional craftsmanship using archival materials, we help collections endure for generations.
"We are not the owners of these items - only their keepers for the next generation."
